Got a notice from CA Franchise tax board and messed up with the option to reply?

Me too, Im from Cali but was stationed on the east coast until the very end of 2005( I was here 2 weeks of the entire year) and because I filed with a California address they are freaking out. When I lived out of state I was exempt from paying state taxes for being stationed out of state( I filed federal though) Now Im having to go through all my tax paperwork and I am attaching a letter to the letter they sent me with a copy of my return, W2, and the exact reason these sh*theads cant find my information for that year. Its ridiculous! I dont know why you had the problems that you did with yours but send them a letter stating you did not live here in 2005 and if you paid taxes in Texas for that year screw California you dont owe this state a f*ckin dime for that year. I think they are realizing with the rebate checks that they can try to fool others into paying the system back. Dont be a victim to this. Send them a letter, make a copy of it, and see what response you get.
