How do you say this in Czech?

Has anyone ever heard of the term for 'north' being 'půlnoc'? I'm reading an article and it says that it is, however I thought 'north' was 'sever'. Is this perhaps an old version? While we're at it, could you list how you would say North, South, East, and West in Czech? Thanks!
