I would like to ask why there is so much religious bashing and gay bashing?
Thank you Warren for a nice life story of kindness and tolerance. I have been an Atheist all my life. I was horrified by religious stories as a child. I was repulsed by the religion bashing within my own extended family. My uncle married a Roman Catholic, I attended two wedding m events before I was 5. Yet my Pentacostal father ridiculed confessionals and accused priests of getting drunk on altar wine and having with nuns. I guess he was unaware of pedophile priests. My mother was lilly white racist Methodist. My kindergarten teacher was an African American woman. Desperately, my mom tried to retrain me from saying the "n" word so common from my dad, cousins and cacausoid neighbors. She kept repeating: "tell her she's colored. Now dad, don't say that, they are colored people." I just called her my teacher. My great Aunt Mabel was a Jehovah's Witness. She made the best bread and jams and candied tomatoes. I loved her and her little dog. Yet every time we'd leave her house the jokes and insults against knocking on doors by JW's left me thinking, why all the hate towards nice people? One religion can't be right and all others wrong? All religions can not be right. No religion must be right. I loved Disney science films. He was an Atheist. I loved reading my first biography about Albert Einstein, he was an Atheist. I wanted to be like smart honest men, not mouthy believer men. I hated Senator McCarthy. All the gay people I ever met in my city were artistic, kind and ever so careful to hide their loving intentions towards others. The first gay pride parade in Des Moines Iowa was the right thing to do. False religions and bigotry relies upon threats and shame. It is so illogical that group hatefulness is the only way to keep such lies believed. I'm a US Navy Vet and I'd rather serve with LT Choi than liar LT Colonel Oliver North. Warren is right. His religion is private and personal and his life is his own to live and die. Chaplains stay away from him. He knows his own mind and is at peace with kindness, not religious bigotry. Thomas Paine wrote the Age Of Reason 3rd Part, to "prevent Atheism." If you religious people don't want more Atheists like me to grow up and be scientists, you'd better read your own delusional fake obscene King James Bible like Paine did and prove it to be false. Warren has reduced ethics to a single principle prevent violence by being non-violent. Do only good as you wish good done to you.
